Solution Components


This module generates the medical report for a specific patient according to the patient's request or a doctor's request.

The medical report module consists of two screens:

Report Designer is responsible about creating templates for the medical reports to decrease the daily work in writing or designing a report from scratch.

    • All report templates are linked to the related doctors.
    • The screen consists of the Doctor name - report name and the body of the report
    • The body of the report uses Microsoft Word as an editor
    • This tool is available to increase the power of the module through enabling the user to use all the features in Microsoft Word (formatting-spell checker) to generate the required report.
    • The designer uses the version of Microsoft Office Word that is installed in the user's PC, so if different versions are used in the users' PCs then the designer will always work on the version installed on the device.
    • The module is designed to support opening more than one instance for the same screen and navigate between them by an easy way (all the instances titles modified automatically to be named with the Report title).
    • From this screen the user will be able to view and print reports about template designs in a specified report or some reports names related to each other.
    • Also the user will be able to view and print reports about designs for a specific doctor.

Patient Report is similar to the Designer screen in design and functionality except it has much more fields to be used and filled.

    • Report date – Patient name – Doctor – Referred by doctor and notes.
    • The user will not have the option to enter the report name but he will only have to selects it from the reports menu. The Report template will appear and will be enabled for modifying.
    • The module designed to enable opening of more than one instance for the same screen and navigate between them by an easy way (all the instances titles modified automatically will view the patient name).
    • From this screen the user will be able to view and print reports about result reports within a period for a specific patient or for all patients.
    • From this screen the user will be able to view and print reports about result reports within a period ordered by a specific Doctor or by all doctors for a specific Patient or for all patientsFrom this screen the user will be able to view and print reports about result reports within a period referred by specific Doctor or by all doctor for a specific Patient or for all patients.


This module is responsible about reservations for clinics, wards and examinations schedule.

It consists of 3 input screens and reports.

  • First screen is used to add visit types which consists of the name and the colour (will be explained later). This screen used to link the reservation by type of the visit (like normal – special - consultancy….)
  • Second screen is used to add the doctor schedule in clinics and in examinations. This schedule helps the system to make the schedules variables and depend on the hospital doctors' schedule.
  • The third screen is designed to reduce the time working on it.
    • Start by selecting clinics or examination
    • Select the doctor and his clinic or the examination
    • Choose from multiple criteria to filter information (date – day – schedule orders - patient).
    • The schedules within the period selected appeared in a calendar view. This view contains the schedule times and the reservations in these times.
    • All the reservations appeared with its colour (the colour related to the visit type selected when selecting it while reserving to the patient)
    • By remarking every visit type by a colour it will be easy to go to the empty times or to manage the visit types in the day.
    • This calendar shows the patient name and telephone in every cell.
    • By double clicking on the empty times it opens a screen to enter the data for the reservation (ID-Name-telephone-visit type-notes-date of birth – referred by doctor)
    • By double clicking on any reserved time it opens the same screen but filled with the reservation data to preview the details of this reservation.
    • The system also handles doctor's cancellations and updates on the schedules by showing it as red cell in the calendar to avoid reserve in these times to this doctor.
    • Also it handles reservation cancellation.
  • Reports
    • Reservations to a specified Doctor – within period
    • Reservations to all the Doctors – within period
    • Reservation to a specified op. room – within period
    • Reservation to all op. rooms – within period
    • Reservation to specified patient – within period
    • Reservations to a specified examination – within period

Context Groups support the use of Coded Concepts in DICOM facilitates unambiguous communication of concepts or terms. LEADTOOLS supports all the context groups defined by the “DICOM Content Mapping Resource (DCMR)”, which is specified by PS 3.16 of the DICOM Standard.
